TPCC club update - 24/25 Junior cricket as at 24 Sept 2024

Hi all registered players, coaches, officials and parents of Toorak Prahran Cricket Club (TPCC)

WELCOME TO SEASON 2024/25

We hope you've had a good winter and are getting ready for a big summer of cricket ahead.

For those I have not met, my name is Steve Zayler the Junior Coordinator of TPCC. I'm very excited to meet all our new members, and re-engage with our returning members - welcome back.

Other important people/names to know from the club are:

- James Gray our Coaching/Training and Blasters Coordinator

- Rob Ary our club Secretary, Grounds Manager and Admin Coordinator (PlayHQ and PlayCricket)

- Neil Gumley our club President across the Junior and Senior sections

- Jim Hallam our club Registrar and Treasurer

For all communications with the club please make sure to include James Gray and I so we are across all questions and can answer in a timely manner.

TEAMS

Teams will be coming out over the next week starting with our U11 and U13 Friday night sides. Older sides and other days will follow soon after.

We ask you please remain patient as we need to get all contact lists together and send communication to each individual side.

TPCC has 30 teams registered to play this season and this may rise over the next few weeks as more registrations come through so it is not a small task sending out all the info.

You will see emails from James Gray with me included. If the below info can't answer one of your questions please email James and I.

All teams will be announced by email by 27 Sept 2024 which will include training details - all registered players (ie registerd in playhq) will receive this email

Training starts week commencing 30 Sept 2024.

CLOTHING

If you haven't already ordered uniform please do so ASAP via the link below. Each player will need a TPCC hat and Blue top to play. Can get shorts for training and an extra hat if you'd like. White playing pants can get at cricket stores and most sporting stores

Buy white cricket pants at any retail store

You cannot buy club clothing at the clubhouse ie all sales are online.

TPCC an arrangement the Gray Nicholls outlet store which supplies current products (clothing and personal cricket equipment) at significant discounts - their outlet store:

45 Wangara Road, Cheltenham, VIC 3192, AUSTRALIA

TPCC HOLIDAY CAMPS

Please see the link below for our TPCC Holiday Camps. We encourage all kids in Melbourne during the holidays to get down to the nets to practice. The TPCC Holiday Camps are a great way of getting plenty of casual easy going cricket to get in the swing of things.

Kids from other clubs and friends who are new to the game are all welcome.

PRACTICE MATCHES

The weekend before Round 1 we plan to have practice matches for all ages and teams. For anyone in Melbourne there will be a game but if your side doesn't have enough players, you'll join with another TPCC side to play a game.

If you want to play multiple games as available Friday, Saturday and Sunday then more then welcome to just let your Team Manager and Coach know once we have sent you your team email.

Practice match dates - October 4th, 5th, 6th

FIXTURES

Round 1 will be weekend October 11th, 12th and 13th depending on what day you have selected your child to play - Friday, Saturday and/or Sunday

Friday night games are 4:45-7:30pm

Saturday morning games are 8:30/45-11:15/30am (games try to start ASAP)

Sunday morning games are 8:30/45-11:15/30am

Wednesday night (girls only) are 4:45-7:30pm

As with the teams, it is very important that you are patient with the fixtures coming out. All games are played at the same times on each day so it is a jigsaw for the League to get sorted. It's not the same as footy, soccer, basketball etc. which play games 1 after another in different time slots.

When we know the fixture you'll know and if will be on the PlayCricket App which we encourage you to download and search then add Toorak Prahran Cricket Club

We play in the Inner South East Cricket (ISEC) competition

EQUIPMENT

The club has a limited supply of equipment players can borrow for the season. Please contact James Gray and I if wanting to borrow equipment

1 on 1 COACHING

If wanting 1 on 1 coaching and you did not indicate this on the registration please contact Jim Hallam - jendix@jendix.com.au

Jim will then give you all the details of how this works through the club.

GENERAL INFO

- The club runs a BBQ each week on Wednesday and Friday from week of round 1 to the end of the season

- There is a summer holiday break from the week before Christmas until February for the Girls, U11 and U13s. U15 and U17 come back in the last 2 weeks of January

- We ask that all families learn to score as you will be put on duty during the season. Majority of teams are online which is very easy once you learn. There is also a scorebook which is a great way to watch and learn the game

- U13, U15 and U17 teams play finals if they make the top 4. There are no finals for U11s

- Training day and time will be sent in your Team email from James Gray over the next week. If you are unable to train with your team as the allocated time and/or day you can train with other teams

Above should have all the info you need until you get your team confirmation email from James Gray. As mentioned though if you have any questions that aren't covered above please don't hesitate to contact James and I

We are very excited for the season to get underway and can't wait to see all families either during the holidays at our cricket camps or before round 1
